This was moderately reduced though lurking in the background were soft notes of Granny Smith. that are trimmed in discreet wood toast. There is an enticing mouth feel to the medium weight plus flavors thanks to the abundant level of dry extract that coats the palate on the muscular and powerful finish that offers good but not steller depth at this early point. Not surprisingly for an appellation that ages well and in magnum format, this is nowhere near ready but I suspect that this will be ready sooner than it normally would be in a more structured vintage.
